This lantern is the aluminium-canopied version of the Simplex Solumbra; they could also have steel or fibreglass canopies. This canopy also has a deeper rim than the GRP Solumbra. Notice as well the one-piece base casting on this example, where my other Solumbra has a two-part base.
There is a grub-screw located at each 1/3rd of the circumference of the base.
Fitted on the canopy is a NEMA socket, which (previously) would have housed a Zodion SS6 photocell.
A remnant from the REVO days of production still exists on the locking nut in the centre of the canopy. Unscrewing this will allow the canopy to be removed entirely.
The NEMA socket comes complete with a two-part connector which prevents the wires straining during servicing.
A specification sticker exists inside:
A lamp-support for a SOX lamp is fixed into the base. Being remote-geared, the wiring is very simple.
