For a time, this was one of the largest lanterns in the collection, and it still is in terms of its length. This version of the MA50 (unlike my other examples) features a Mk.1 shoe for the 135W gear to be housed. This MA50 also has something quite special inside of it.

There are five clips on this version of the MA50: two at each side, and one at the end of the GRP section. This lantern is missing one of the rear clips.

Inside, some writing can be seen. Originally, a local collector's signature was discovered inside.

The lantern was signed on the 10/2/1999 which was likely it's installation date. After this discovery, I decided to turn this MA50 into a sort-of project, in that each collector who visits my collection directly will have the opportunity to also sign this lantern. I signed it as well, as I do with many of my lanterns, along with the date of acquisition.

Inside the lamp-area is also the lantern's sticker. It gives an exact date (that the sticker was printed at least) of the 6/7/1998.

A small amount of damage exists on the underside of the shoe. Opening the shoe can be done via the unscrewing of a screw on each side underneath.

The replacement gear was a spare 135W SOX one I had lying around. In the purpose of getting the MA50-"GOing", I decided to just whack the gear in there, but I may tidy it up in the future.

The old capacitor is pictured below:
