This lantern showcases one of Philips' versions of the Arc 80, after it was sold to them by WRTL. There are a few physical differences between both versions which are highlighted on this page. This particular Arc features a curved glass bowl, which is adhered to the reflector to provide a single sealed unit. The lantern was eleven years old at the time of acquisition.
The lantern may have been used as a temporary lantern for a bit, hence the marker pen specifying the lamp-type.
A set of Philips Arc instructions was found within a box from an online order of an unrelated lantern. I decided to keep them and put them with the Philips Arc 80 I had in the collection.
As is typical with the Arc lanterns, the industrial-grade gasket has protected the insides from dirt, water, and debris.
The sticker gives some notable details. For one, the lantern operates on Dim A, which is: 100% after switch on - 20:00, 75% between 20:00 - 00:00, 50% between 00:00 - 05:00, 75% between 05:00 - 06:00, and 100% from 06:00 - switch off. Secondly, 24W2013 refers to the 24th Week of 2013, giving a production date between 10/06/2013 - 16/06/2013 for this lantern.
The lantern appears to have been installed in July of 2013.
Unlike my Industria examples, the Philips version of the Arc didn't have the Industria logo on the underside, but you can see where it would have been - just in front of the spigot.
The lantern was warmed up for the first time since it entered the collection:
