My Collection: Newlec NLBF136

This was the first batten-type fixture to enter the collection, on the 02/12/2024. It was found by the side of the road for scrap men to take, but unfortunately for them, I got to it first! It didn't come with a lamp, but an Eveready 36W T8 (4ft) lamp was purchased for it to run. The batten shows evidence of having been ceiling-mounted, given the white paint around it's perimeter.

Being only 4ft long, the batten's cover doesn't need screws to provide extra support in holding it up. It simply clips around the sides of the casing.

Inside is a 4μF capacitor made by Cambridge Capacitors.

The batten's gear also consists of a Tridonic ATCO EC 36 LA 509K ballast, as well as a Philips S10 starter.

The batten works fine, so it's removal was likely the result of renovation works.

The batten was mounted onto my desk, and now lives alongside several other fixtures on the desk.
