This Urbis ZX2 is has the highest power-consumption of all of my ZX lanterns, despite me owning the larger ZX3. It features a deep polycarbonate bowl, but flat-glass, curved tempered glass or zebra polycarbonate bowls were available. The lantern has previously been disassembled and fully cleaned. The ZX2 is an icon in the UK; it's likely you were never too far from one in the 2000s-2020s.
A less-familiar view of the lantern, with the canopy being separated into two sections via a hinge.
This example was mounted side-entry during its service. Both clips to access the lantern's gear-compartment are present at the back of the lantern.
A SON150 driver is stuffed into the back of the lantern, and a defunct capacitor and ignitor can be seen to the right. You may also spot the outline where the old 100W magnetic ballast was located.
A glance at the sticker reveals this lantern was manufactured as a 100W example, but it was changed to 150W when the driver was installed during it's service.
The retired ignitor and capacitor:
With it's "new" SON150 driver, the lantern sprung to life!
