The REVO C1440X was a popular range of mercury/tungsten lanterns. They were too small to ever have a gear, and the tungsten versions did not need one. This version is believed to be the C14408/T, likely having run a mercury lamp before its decommission. It has a polycarbonate bowl, but the internal dome refractor is missing.

The polycarbonate bowl could be a replica, but at some point in its past, it looks to have had a rather negligent scrub, leaving permanent scratches around the sides. I attempted to remove some of it with a gentle wash, but only some dirt was able to be removed.

The paintwork is very similar to my other Belltop, with the green body and brown paint around the spigot (indicating a brown bracket). These appear to have been painted in service, so the Belltops may have come from a similar area.

With some persuasion, the grub-screw did come loose.

More evidence of it's in-service paint-job is that the paint covers the lantern's clips.

The lantern's internals have some damage, but considering it's age, you can't blame it!

The tray's hinge has snapped off completely, as has the screw that holds it shut, but when the lantern is closed the tray is held in place by the bowl-ring. In the centre of the tray is the socket that would have held a dome-refractor.

A sticker showcasing lamp-holder positions is present on the underside of the tray. GLS is on the left, with mercury on the right.

The lantern's old wires were incredibly crispy, and considering I didn't want a nasty shock, I rewired the lantern, adding a clip-connector to connect the lantern to my 80W MBF/U gear-board. The lamp-holder is in the position for 80W mercury.

With the new cable installed, the lantern was connected to my 80W MBF/U gear-board and ran for the first time since acquisition:
