This SGS201 is for 100W SON-T lamps. The lantern is in good condition. It dates back to July 2001, but it was only about seven months later in February 2002 where it would see it's installation and first public service. The position of the spigot indicates that this particular lantern was mounted side-entry, but it could be switched around for post-top mounting if necessary.

The lantern's rectangular shape is apparent from a more-familiar underneath view.

On the underside of the gear-compartment is the identification-sticker. The screw visible is one of two located on this piece of the lantern, with both acting to hold the cover to the gear-area in place.

The spigot is composed of LM6 aluminium alloy, and is identical to the one seen on the Philips SGS203.

The NEMA socket (located in the centre of the gear-compartment cover) dates to March of 2001.

Removing the two screws mentioned earlier, the underside of the gear-compartment cover was pictured. There are a few things to note, here, such as the faint inspection sticker, as well as a July 2001 date-compass.

The gear is not original, as the driver it came with was water damaged, and said water had frozen on one of the long autumn nights. While the SGS201 resembles a block of ice, the driver actually was one!

"0202" likely refers to the date of installation.

With it's "new" gear, the lantern sprung into life:
