This was the longest lantern in Philips' iconic FGS103/4/5 range, and was also sold as the MI66 or XGS105 (SOX). The FGS105 saw little use in the UK when compared to the MI26 and MI36 (and their fluorescent counterparts). 55W PL-L lanterns were plentiful, and other lanterns such as the WRTL Libra (later adopted by Philips, actually) and the Urbis Altra kept the pool of equivalent lanterns filled. Even Philips' own Resdium saw greater success. In mainland Europe, their popularity was noticeable however. This example came from eBay.
Due to its length, the bowl relies on three clips and three hinges.
"B206" on the sticker refers to the 06/02/2002.
Both ballasts were removed from this lantern, one existed as a replacement for the other, but both have failed. Notice the two holes for starters for the twin-lamp version.
Sitting near the boundary between the GRP and aluminium section of the lantern is a NEMA photocell socket.
The NEMA socket is dated to September of 2001.
The lantern did come with a Zodion SS6 photocell.
