ELECO HW-897/898 Lantern Installations
The ELECO HW-897 or HW-898 lantern was part of the "Way" range of lanterns. It was the 45W-60W SOI version of the post-tops. Their base and hat were made from diecast aluminium, and the bowl from acrylic. These lanterns never had the room to accommodate any gear, so it would have been located in the column's base.

Column E5 of Chapel Lane supported an ELECO HW-897. This example (I believe) ran a 35W SOX lamp, but would have had an SOI lamp originally.
The same lantern at night:
An ELECO HW-897 exists on Hewitt Close, mounted at 5m.
Not far away on Bloomfield Crescent is yet another HW-897. It is possible that this entire area was once lit with these lanterns running SOI/H lamps.
As well as on the lantern, the ELECO logo exists on the column too, confirming that this installation is nearly all original, except the possible conversion to SOX and a modern photocell.
