SUGG Classic Globe Electric Lantern Installations

Manufactured in two diecast aluminium halves (with hand-crafted copper finial and ogee) the SUGG Classic Globe is an excellent traditional globe-styled street light which is ideal for heritage areas or areas that require style. The lantern's body is finished in polyester powder paint as standard, with a full range of RAL colours. Three sizes can be purchased: 44.5cm (Small) 48.3cm (Medium) or 53.3cm (Large). The globe itself is constructed from polycarbonate as standard, but glass and acrylic (including etched or opal) are also available upon request. The globe features an ingress protection rating of IP54.

This example was spotted in the doorway to a property on Derby Gate. I think it has some-kind of LED light source inside. This appears to be the medium (48.3cm) version.

A neglected pair of 44.5cm versions were also sighted along Parliament Street (not far from the previous one). The closest one has a wonky finial, while the second one is missing it's entirely!

Stafford

Four small SUGG Classic Globes are used on Victoria Road Bridge outside of Stafford Train Station. I don't know what lamps these run, but I'd guess high-pressure sodium. Column 25 is pictured below:

The SUGG logo is present on the bases of all four globes.

Column 27 is on the same side of the road:

All four are installed on cast-iron pillars which I would guess pre-date the lanterns themselves.

26 and 28 are installed on the opposite side of the road, on identical pillars. B28:

These were not the only SUGG Classic Globes to be found in Stafford. Below are two versions with clear globes, situated outside of the Staffordshire County Council County Buildings on Martin Street.

They feature stacked ring reflectors inside to aid in light-distribution.
