Philips Luma Mini Lantern Installations
Philip's Luma Mini (BGP621) is the second-smallest lantern in the Luma series originally launched by WRTL. This version of the lantern was designed for residential roads and areas, and output absolutely no light upwards. The lanterns have an IP rating of IP66.
Birmingham
The Luma series is used in great numbers throughout Birmingham, including the Luma Mini. These Luma Minis are fitted post-top to red columns along Oval Road and Compton Road. This first photo is of column 9, Oval Road.
I also photographed the lantern opposite Compton Road.
Cast into the columns' doors are "Valmont Stainton" lettering.
Tamworth
This new estate near Amington boasts several of these. The WRTL Luma Mini is the smaller version of the WRTL Luma 1, and it is designed for use on residential roads and parking areas. Most have Zodion photocells fitted (I think the SS6 model).
This Luma Mini has tape wrapped around it's base compartment to keep the door shut!
