Messrs. Stevens and Son Bude Lamp Installations
The Bude Lamp was designed by Sir. Goldsworthy Gurney, and it was proposed that they would originally be used within lighthouses. High running costs put a stop to this however, and they were instead used in the House of Commons. These lamps produced light via the introduction of oxygen into an Argand Burner.

Four Bude Lamps survive in Trafalgar Square, London, where they have been since their installation in 1845. These lights did not escape the wrath of electrification, however, and they now run what I believe are SON lamps. Two are visible in the image below:
Inside of the lanterns nowadays is a hexagonal box (likely where the gears are located) and a reflector made from several aluminium rings.
