ELECO HW-671/1 Lantern Installations
Originating from the 1960s, ELECO's HW-671/1 was an industrial-type pendant fitting for GLS lamps. The main body of the lantern was made from aluminium, where a plastic shade was attached to the body using two strong screws. The fixtures could incorporate a bowl or remain as an open-type fitting. Their top-entry spigot allowed them to be ceiling or column mounted.
Derby
A building on Shaftesbury Street supports two ELECO HW671/1s. One is mounted on pipe-work while the other is situated on a wall-bracket.
This first example still has it's GLS lamp inside, and is the only example of the two to have it's shade.
The second HW671/1 is installed on the corner of the building, directly above a footpath. This vulnerability to vandalism certainly shows when compared to the previous example!
The supply cable is dangling out of the installation, suggesting that the other one is disconnected too.
Just the base of the lamp remains in this example.
