CU Phosco P567 Lantern Installations

The CU Phosco P567 was the side-entry only version of the CU Phosco P567A, but it was available with a post-top adaptor. Unlike the P567-A, their canopy was made from GRP (fibreglass). These lanterns could run either SOX, SON, metal halide or (in a more-recent development) solar-powered LEDs.

Lichfield

St. Michael Road in Lichfield has some odd installations, this was the first time I've seen the LED versions of the P567. Pictured at night, it's obvious these either don't work, or the solar panels don't generate enough power to run them for very long.

Loughborough

Loughborough is home to several CU Phosco P567(/A)s, with many of them being the flat-glass (cut-off) version. This one is located outside of Tesco off the B589.

Rugby

At the end of West Leyes Road is this quadra-bracket with each arm supporting a CU Phosco P567. It's very hard to spot in the below image, owing to the sun's glare.

Anti-bird spikes are employed on these, probably so the cars don't get an unwanted paint job while customers park up.

I came back about six hours later to find that they were day-burning LED cob lamps. These are likely operated manually or via a timer which has not been adjusted for the longer spring days.

Tamworth

There are two, and they run 70W SON, but the one in the photograph does not work. The Zodion SS12 Photocell can be seen on top of the lantern.
