Newbold Footpath, Rugby
Rugby's Newbold Footpath provides an excellent view of some surviving installations inside of GE Power, Rugby. Visible first are some pretty unremarkable (Tamlite?) PL-S bulkheads. Many of them are smashed to bits, having been completely forgotten about by the site that owns them.
A Little further along is a derelict (but still intact) GEC security Nightwatch (Z9538). Despite having a cell socket, no cell is installed, suggesting this was manually-switched.
The next installation consists of a wall-mounted GEC Z9464 for 66W SOX-E or 90W SOX lamps.
The GEC name plaque is visible beneath the reflector-tray at the front of the lantern. Aiding in this visibility is the fact that the bowl is missing. Only a small amount of polycarbonate exists where the hinges still are.
Even though a lamp is installed, it has reached EOL, and is completely black. The BC lamp-holder has been putting in overtime holding the lamp like that, and I'm surprised such a huge amount of pressure on one part of the porcelain hasn't caused it to crack!
A column-mounted GEC Z9464 is also present, this one having retained it's bowl.
At the end of the path is this (closed) railway, which I presume is for the cement plant nearby.
