REVO Lodestar Lantern Installations

Also known as the C2626/C7186, REVO Lodestar's were a 100W GLS lantern for top-entry installations. Very few remain nowadays owing to replacement schemes over the decades, and the ones that do remain are often in poorly-maintained condition, or forgotten entirely.

Chester

On the site of the Handbridge Water Tower are two cast-iron columns, which both would have held REVO Lodestar lanterns once-upon-a-time, but nowadays the only installation with a bracket or lantern is this one.

The lantern's spun reflector is long-gone, as is (most of) the GLS lamp it once ran.

The four fixing screws which would have attached the reflector to the lantern's body are still all present, but I'd imagine are all stuck solid.

The second column here will be featured as a Hidden in Plain Sight article, given its predicament.

Lichfield

Pictured attached to a building located on The Close, Lichfield, is what appears to be the remains of an obsolete open-type REVO Lantern. It's quite hidden so you have to look closely to spot it! It looks to be a REVO Lodestar, which would have run a GLS lamp, although an exact identification of the model cannot be made without the reflector. Thank you to Mike Barford for identifying this lantern.
