Vandalite Shetland Lantern Installations

The difference between the Shetland and Skye luminaires are that the Shetland has an opal diffuser. The Shetland could run: 50W-100W SON, 50W-80W mercury, 35W SOX, or (most recently) LEDs. The new versions can run 11.3W-64W LED, producing 1500lm-7000lm. As with their sister lantern, the Skye, they are rated for anti-vandalism due to their intended low mounting-height.


Birmingham

A residential area off Wheelwright Road boasts countless Vandalite Shetland post-tops on GEC "Fivemeter" columns. The first of these is visible from the main road, lighting a small parking area:

Another one was photographed in the Spiral Court & Green Court car park.

The columns carry the GEC branding in the form of a small plaque at head-height.
