Urbis St. Giles Small Lantern Installations
Urbis' St. Giles lantern was an interesting pendant-mounted heritage luminaire that was available in three sizes. In older versions, either: an inset optic and a horizontal lamp were used, or a circular refractor encompassing a vertical metal halide or SON lamp. These small-sized versions could run: 50W or 70W SON, or 35W, 50W or 70W metal halide, and were recommended for mounting height of 5m or below. Nowadays the St. Giles is still in production, using an LED board.
Loughborough
Two of these complementary lanterns are used outside of Loughborough Railway Station, along with two SUGG Rochester Electrics.
A small plaque identifies Urbis as the manufacturer, as well as provides their telephone number.
Stafford
Utilizing horizontal lamps, these three Urbis St. Giles Small lanterns are installed along Martin Street, just to the side of Starbucks.
All three are installed on stylish wall-brackets.
