Thorn Celest Lantern Installations

Thorn's slimline Celest lantern appears to have been available in two sizes depending on the power of the fluorescent lamp it would run. This would encompass 36W-80W TC-L lamps. The body is formed of RAL9006 (diecast aluminium) with a UV stabilized polycarbonate bowl which is locked against the body to form a tight IP66 lamp enclosure.

A number of 55W PL-L Celest lanterns line the platforms at Ladbroke Grove Station. Interestingly, there are Holophane Denver Wallmount lanterns attached to the columns as well, so I'm not sure which are still in use, unless both are.

A lot of them seem to have broken lamp-supports, evident by the lopsided lamps. It looks like they have their NEMA sockets plugged with dummy-link cells.
