Thorlux Vandalux Lantern Installations
Thorlux's Vandalux luminaire is used for subways and railway stations here in the UK. Multiple lengths are available, with the longest being 1600mm long. Non-emergency, auto test emergency, or standard emergency options are available for this lantern, and it prides itself on being incredibly impact-resistant, hence their use in railway stations, where vandalism may be a higher risk.
Lichfield
Some emergency variants of these lanterns are installed around Lichfield City Railway Station. This one is located on the stairs.
Each light here has its own identification code for maintenance.
A mixed-length set of Vandalux lanterns can be found at Lichfield Trent Valley, where they line the platforms. This one is on Platform 3.
Covering the photocell caused the lantern to activate nearly immediately, although it's hard to see in the daylight.
Longer Vandalux luminaires are located above each door to the platform 3 lift.
These appear to be fitted with an emergency option too. Thorlux's distinctive logo is also visible despite the diffuser.
Tamworth
Some of these lanterns (all fitted with photocell detectors) line platform 2 at Tamworth Train Station. At the start of the platform are two medium sized Vandalux, where the rest are all the small size.
