SUGG Moor Large Lantern Installations

These unusual lanterns are confirmed to be made by SUGG, but an exact match cannot be found online. This leads me to believe that these are a bespoke design, unique (or at least designed for) Moor Street Railway Station - so they don't have an official name. I'm dubbing these the "Moor" lantern, with this page documenting the large version. They appear to have been created to run SON or MH lamps.

A number of these bespoke lanterns exist in Moor Street Railway Station. Nowadays they run LED cob lamps, but previously they would have run SON or MH lamps. The reflector leads me to believe that such lamps would also have been positioned horizontally.

The below image presents a nice comparison between the large (left) and small (right) versions.

Below are the images that allowed me to identify the manufacturer of these lanterns. The first sticker states "This side of lantern to face road - Please remove label on completion of installation" - Clearly someone didn't get the memo!

SUGG's logo is visible in the next image.

The large lanterns are all located on Abacus base-hinged columns.

The installations line virtually the whole length of two of the platforms.

Another example on the platform with it's orientation-label still intact.

Some ceiling-mounted ones are located under the canopies on the platforms. These confirm that the lamps would have been horizontal originally. Different LED lamps are employed for a more controlled light-distribution.
