SUGG Grosvenor Gas Lantern Installations

This page documents the gas version of the Grosvenor by SUGG. It is available in three sizes: small (13"), medium (17"), and large (21"). They are fitted with glass panels, which seal the lantern with an IP54 ingress-protection rating. The medium version can also have an IP65 rating. The lantern can feature four finish options: natural copper, polished copper, lacquered, RAL colour range or (as a bonus) "other" finishings which likely means special requests could be made.

London

Several medium Gas Grosvenors exist around Central London. These first examples are installed along The Green Park, near Buckingham Palace. They appear to be an older type, and have four burners.

The same pathway was visited the next day:

In every case here, a sticker is placed on the lantern (or within it) which reveals the lamplighters to be British Gas.

Inside are Newbridge Hortsmann timeclocks - of the same type as the timeclock in my collection, actually.

A frog-mounted Grosvenor is also present along Spur Road.

At the time of photographing, the lantern had yet to be extinguished.

This one, too, was fitted with a Newbridge Hortsmann timeclock.

The three dimly-lit mantles were visible through the glass:

In the yin and yang of photographs, here is the same lantern pictured the evening prior, where it had yet to be lit!

A significant number of Grosvenors also exist along The Mall.
