REVO C14408/S Lantern Installations

The REVO C14408/T was the 80W-125W mercury, side-entry, enclosed lantern in the REVO Bell-top series. Their tiny size meant they never had an integral gear, as the lantern only had room for the lamp, refractor (if it was a version that had one), and if you were lucky, a photocell unit. This version -being mercury- would have had a remote-gear.

The Temple of Relief in Jewellery Quarter is fitted with a REVO C14408/S Belltop lantern.

The lantern is mounted to the wall using a gear-box and bracket.

The original REVO T02025 ballast is still inside:

A REVO capacitor and a Venner time switch are installed below the ballast:

At the bottom is a BILL fused isolator, switched to the "on" position:

The refractor is missing, as well as the bowl. The inclusion of a bowl-ring indicates this would have been an enclosed lantern originally.

Another similar installation is located on a derelict Temple of Relief on Great Barr Street.

Oddly, the cell is installed almost directly below the lamp. I'd imagine perhaps that the bowl would have had some-sort of shield on it.
