Phosware P127 Lantern Installations

Also known as the "Phosco P127", or "Phosware SO140 Enclosed Sodium Lantern", these linear sodium luminaires could run 85W-140W SO/H lamps. Top entry (SO140T) or side-entry (SO140S) mountings were available, but they were always remote-geared, meaning the gear would almost always be found inside the column base. This lantern is the larger version of the P125.


Stoke-on-Trent

Two P127s exist on the grounds of a Royal Mail depot on Leek Road.

Both bowls have clouded over the decades, but the lamp-holders can still be seen within.

The second example, closer to the front of the depot:

They both appear to be fitted with LED cob lamps.
