Kingfisher Sloane 1 Lantern Installations

The Kingfisher Sloane 1 was a large amenity globe lantern intended for large areas such as car parks and parks. Lamp types for this lantern included 50W to 150W SON, and metal halide lamps. It's IP65 rating makes it an ideal, robust post-top lantern. It's bowl is of polycarbonate composition.

Birmingham

This Kingfisher Sloane 1 is located on High Street.

This is probably one of the dirtiest globe lanterns I have ever seen, and on street view it is hanging off the lantern. Its repair since does show that someone is maintaining it, but it could do with some anti-bird protection.

Crewe

A demonstration of one of these lanterns with the anti-bird prongs is pictured below. You can immediately see the difference!

Tamworth

Several Sloane 1 lanterns are present on the buildings inside the Calico Business Park. They have all been retro-fitted with LED cob lamps.

Another Sloane 1 lantern was spotted at the end of Marston Park.
