GEC Z9100/1 Lantern Installations
This was the shorter, single-lamp version of the Z9102/3. The Z9100 was the version with fluted front glass, where as the Z9101 featured plain glass. It was advertised as a flood light for lighting parallel to a road, on walls, columns or high-masts, or area lighting for large squares. Their body was constructed from aluminium sheet, and featured a glazed, hinged front frame to support the glass.
Tamworth
A small industrial area off Lichfield Street features four 10m columns, with three of these supporting GEC Z9101s. Notice the one in the background is missing it's cover.
One of the clips is also missing from the closest example.
