DesignPlan Brunnel Lantern Installations
The Brunnel by DesignPlan was a vandal resistant bulkhead light with an impact ration of IK14, and an IP rating of IP54. There were a few different versions available, including one with a black shield only allowing downward-light-output. They could be mounted on virtually any wall or ceiling, both indoor and outdoor.
London
These DesignPlan Brunnel bulkheads are installed on the steps down to Chancery Lane Tube Station. They appear to have been LED retrofitted in recent years, but chances are they ran 2D fluorescent lamps originally.
Loughborough
Town Hall Passage has a considerable number of bulkheads and floodlights. Among the variety are a series of DesignPlan Brunnel luminaires. These feature a shield to prevent upward-light-distribution. This first example is fitted with anti-bird spikes; these do not act as anti-spider spikes though!
The next bulkhead isn't fitted with such spikes, as it's not sheltered by an underpass.
The least sheltered of them is the third luminaire along, where it has seen direct sunlight for years. This has resulted in the polycarbonate lens turning yellow.
