Abacus AL8040 Lantern Installations

This lantern was sold as the Concept High Cone. It could run 70W, 100W, 150W or 250W SON or HQI, having the code AL8041 for versions with a low-profile bowl or AL8042 for flat-glass. Sold as single, twin, or wall-mounted units, the Concept High Cone was ideal for areas such as precincts or car parks. They were often sold with the 5m, 6m or 8m height High Cone contemporary column, with customization offered in the form of six colours: black, gunmetal grey, silver, white, red, or blue.

This twin-arm installation was spotted outside of ASDA superstore in the heart of Rugby.

This close up reveals the lanterns are now retrofitted using LED cob lamps. The low-profile bowl means these Concept High Cones are the AL8041 versions.
